Aftercare instructions

Derm Shield application should stay in place depending on level of exudation.

It is normal for blood and fluids to collect under the bandage.

A second application can be used for several days if necessary.

Do not wear any piece longer than one week.

If replacement needed, gently clean and pat dry the tattoo and surrounding area, ensuring there is no soap or residue on skin.

After 4-6 days, remove bandage in shower using mild cleanser and hot water.

Gently peel Derm Shield by pulling it back over itself. Avoid pulling upwards.

Air dry tattoo or pat dry with clean paper towel.

Apply thin coat of mild moisturizer 1-2x a day. Tattoo should never look wet/glossy.

Clean: Wash your hands, then gently rinse your piercing twice daily with sterile saline or a sterile wound wash.

Avoid: Do not touch, twist, or remove jewelry. Avoid alcohol, peroxide, ointments, and swimming in lakes/pools until healed.

Healing: Expect mild redness, tenderness, and discharge in early healing. This is normal.

Protect: Sleep on clean sheets, avoid pressure or snagging, and use a clean paper towel to dry if needed.

Do Not Change Jewelry Early: Keep original jewelry in until your piercer advises. 

If you notice signs of severe pain, swelling, or signs of infection such as green secretions and heartbeat-type throbbing, contact your piercer or healthcare professional. Do not remove your jewelry.
